Bavaroise was invited to participate in an extraordinary project known as the Happy Gang. This vibrant brand promotes engaging conversations between parents and children and encourages quality family time through a series of distinct and colorful illustrated card games.

The challenge presented to us was to create the packaging for four decks and design the card layout for a product named “Desbloqueadores de Conversas” (“Conversation Starters). Each deck consists of 50 cards featuring questions related to friendship, nostalgia, and random challenges to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and freedom of expression. Users can explore multiple answers, share their thoughts, discover more about each other, and enjoy moments of laughter with family or friends.

Maria and André sought a unique and customized typographic solution for each deck while maintaining a consistent layout structure to tie them together as a cohesive family visually. The goal was to appeal to different age ranges and distinguish these decks from the previously fully illustrated cards designed for a younger audience.

Idea

For each card, we adapted the package cover to the front, while on the back, we created four different patterns corresponding to the themes. Achieving the perfect combination for each side of the packaging proved to be the most challenging aspect, as we needed to ensure distinctiveness when the decks were placed side by side.
